โ๏ธ How Smart Visual PDF Editor Works
Editing text inside read-only PDF documents usually requires expensive desktop software. Smart Visual PDF Editor offers an intuitive, browser-based solution: it renders the PDF document, detects text coordinate boxes (or runs in-browser Tesseract.js OCR for scanned pages), and lets you click any line to replace names, dates, amounts, or misspelled words.
๐ฏ
Interactive Bounding Boxes
Hover over or click any text element on the rendered canvas to automatically highlight and open its edit field in the sidebar.
๐ง๐ฉ
Bengali & English Font Embed
Includes built-in Google Noto Sans Bengali fontkit embedding, allowing flawless Bengali Unicode rendering alongside standard Latin text.
๐
Auto OCR for Scanned Documents
If a page contains scanned raster images with fewer than 15 characters, in-browser Tesseract OCR triggers automatically to extract words.
โ๏ธ Whiteout Replacement Mechanism & Limitations
It is important to understand how the visual replacement technique functions technically:
- Visual Whiteout Layer: When you replace a string, the engine draws an opaque white bounding rectangle (
page.drawRectangle({ color: rgb(1,1,1) })) over the original text coordinates and renders your new string directly on top.
- Fixed Layout (No Vector Reflow): PDFs have absolute coordinate layouts. Changing a 4-letter word into a 20-letter sentence will not automatically reflow or push down subsequent paragraphs. Keep replacement text roughly proportional to the available space.
- Background Color: Whiteout replacement is designed for documents with clean white backgrounds (standard invoices, applications, certificates).
๐ Privacy & Local Processing Disclosure
100% Client-Side In-Browser Execution: PDF parsing (via PDF.js), client-side OCR (via Tesseract.js), and font injection (via PDF-Lib) run entirely inside your browser's memory (RAM). Your files are never transmitted to Pragati Telecom servers.
